Key Responsibilities:

Sales and Revenue Development:

  • Formulate and implement a detailed sales strategy for events, encompassing weddings, corporate gatherings, conferences, and various social occasions.
  • Identify and engage key client demographics to boost bookings and optimize revenue streams.
  • Conduct venue tours with prospective clients, highlighting facility features and discussing customized event packages.
  • Create comprehensive event budgets, considering client preferences, venue capabilities, and market dynamics.
  • Monitor financial expenditures closely, pinpointing cost-saving measures while maintaining event quality.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and innovations within the events sector, leveraging this knowledge to enhance the venue's offerings.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure all event messaging and promotional materials align with the SUMMIT brand and its value proposition.
  • Understand the distinctive features and advantages of the venue to effectively convey its value to clients.
  • Participate in trade shows, conferences, and sales missions to generate leads.
  • Utilize social media, industry events, and networking opportunities to elevate the venue's profile within the events community.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with clients, comprehending their specific event requirements and tailoring proposals accordingly.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between clients and internal teams, ensuring effective communication and flawless execution of event details.
  • Conduct venue walkthroughs with clients to showcase event spaces and available services.
  • Ensure all venue areas are set up and equipped according to client specifications.

Event Planning and Coordination:

  • Work closely with clients to plan and coordinate all facets of their events, from initial concept to on-site execution with the events coordinator.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including catering, audio-visual, and decor, to ensure that all client expectations are met or surpassed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in event sales.
  • Demonstrated experience in sales and management within the events or hospitality sectors.
  • Strong understanding of the events landscape in New York City.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Total Compensation Range: $70,000-$185,000+ (dependent on commission)
  • Base Salary Range: $70,000-$75,000
  • Commission: Percentage of all event packages sold, paid monthly
  • Bonus: Yearly, discretionary
  • Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k with 4% match, commuter benefit, and more
  • Observance of 10 paid Holidays, PTO, Sick Time

This is an in-person, in-office position.

Flexible hours and some weekends will be required.
