Director of Policy and Advocacy

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Advocacy Director to join our team at the Anti-Defamation League. As a key member of our Midwest Region, you will be responsible for developing and implementing legislative and campus advocacy strategies to engage policymakers, campus administrators, and key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Advocacy Strategies: Collaborate with regional, divisional, and national team members to plan and execute state-based legislation and local government initiatives, as well as advocacy initiatives to combat antisemitism on college and university campuses in the Midwest.
- Build and Maintain Relationships: Recruit and maintain relationships with allies at the state, regional, and local levels to assist with and contribute to ADL's policy and advocacy initiatives.
- Lead and Manage Volunteer Participation: Lead and manage ADL volunteer participation in advocacy activities, such as providing staff support to the Midwest Advocacy Committee, planning and executing state-level advocacy days, and partnering with national and divisional policy colleagues to train ADL constituents and supporters on effective advocacy skills.
- Monitor and Track Legislation: Monitor and track relevant legislation in the relevant states, providing regular reports to regional and divisional teams.
- Represent ADL: Represent ADL Midwest on coalitions and task forces in the Midwest, and build and maintain relationships with key leaders on campus.
- Experience in Advocacy: Several years of experience in issue-based campaigns and coalition building, with a demonstrable increase in skill and responsibility.
- Knowledge of Legislative Process: Knowledge in the state and federal legislative process.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communications skills, including verbal and written, with the ability to translate dense and complicated information for a broader audience.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
