The Financial Aid Program Analyst plays an essential role in facilitating the operations of the financial aid division at Texas Tech University by delivering thorough analysis, assessment, and management of student financial aid initiatives. This role demands a keen eye for detail, robust analytical capabilities, and a comprehensive understanding of financial aid regulations and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of federal and state regulations impacting the awarding, modification, and certification of federal, state, and private educational loans for the entire Texas Tech University student body.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of systems utilized by the Loan Team, including Banner Financial Aid Management System, ScholarNet, COD, and NSLDS.
  • Exhibit knowledge of financial aid policies, procedures, and eligibility criteria.
  • Communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.

Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree coupled with one year of relevant experience, or a combination of education and progressively responsible experience totaling five years.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a Financial Aid Office with a solid understanding of financial aid processes.
  • Experience with Banner Financial Aid Management System.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with ScholarNet for Private Loan Certification.
  • Knowledge of THECB for Private State Loan Certification.

Additional Duties:

Provide guidance to students, parents, high school counselors, and other stakeholders regarding the financial aid process, focusing on borrowing options, repayment strategies, and default prevention through various communication channels.
