Job Summary: The Building Engineer is a key member of the engineering crew at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts. This hands-on position involves inspecting, coordinating, and performing installation, repairs, and maintenance of building engineering equipment, HVAC automation systems, facilities, and physical plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building maintenance, technical training in building automation systems, and experience with fire and life safety systems. Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and coordinate installation, repairs, and maintenance of building engineering equipment and HVAC automation systems.
  • Work with other engineering department personnel to perform and execute department operations.
  • Be available on an on-call basis as needed.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical training in building automation systems, maintenance, and fire emergency systems.
  • Five years' experience in building maintenance.
  • Experience with building automation and fire and life safety systems.
  • Strong maintenance skills/knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to team build and motivate staff.
  • Ability to work varied hours.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
