Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Dakota County. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems of our buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and inspecting equipment, and performing repairs as needed.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostic tests to identify and resolve system malfunctions.
  • Develop and implement long-term solutions to system problems.
  • Provide work direction to vendors and contractors as needed.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to respond to after-hours calls and emergencies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher in a related field preferred.
  • Two years of direct work experience in facilities maintenance or a related field required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Minnesota Special Class "C" boiler license required for Building Maintenance II position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Typing and computer skills to complete basic tasks, such as creating and sending emails, and performing internet searches.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, and the internet desired.
Work Environment

This position requires regular attendance and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be able to lift and carry items up to 100 pounds, and work at heights of up to 30 feet. The position also requires the ability to use a variety of hand tools and equipment, and to work in a team environment.
