Job Overview:


Baptist Health is looking for a dedicated Patient Engagement Pharmacist to enhance our services within the Central Pharmacy.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute all responsibilities related to prescription order processing, including entry, adjudication, clinical assessment, and patient outreach for specialty and home delivery medications.
  • Utilize dispensing software to carry out administrative functions such as efficient prescription processing, coordinating delivery with patients or caregivers, and addressing clinical inquiries and claims issues in a prioritized manner.
  • Work collaboratively with the onsite pharmacy team to ensure exceptional patient service and timely fulfillment of prescriptions.
  • Liaise with healthcare providers regarding any prescription-related inquiries or clinical escalations.
  • Keep precise medication and allergy records in the electronic medical system for patients receiving home-delivered medications.
  • Act as a resource in prescription processing workflows, providing guidance and training to pharmacy technicians and interns.
  • Address insurance-related issues and inform patients promptly about any anticipated delays in prescription fulfillment.
  • Ensure adherence to Baptist Health policies, 340B program requirements, accreditation standards, FDA regulations, and compliance with third-party payers and state and federal laws.
  • Oversee the proper processing and documentation of controlled substances, specialty medications, and other regulated drugs in accordance with legal and payer requirements.
  • Monitor medication shortages and implement strategies to prevent therapy and shipping delays.
  • Maintain expertise in 340B program protocols and assist with audits and reporting.
  • Contribute to the onboarding and training of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
  • Complete necessary training and competency evaluations for pharmacists.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or a Doctorate of Pharmacy is required.
  • A valid Pharmacist License in Kentucky and Indiana or eligibility for licensure.
  • Previous experience in a call center pharmacy setting is preferred.
