About the Role

As a valued member of the Meijer team, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer experiences in our retail environment. Your primary responsibility will be to provide efficient and effective customer service in the checkout lane, creating a positive and lasting impact on our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Utilize technology to complete activities and tasks, creating 'WOW' moments that have a positive and lasting impact on our customers.
  • Transaction Processing: Complete transactions, handle money in all forms responsibly, and maintain accuracy of point of sale purchases.
  • Communication: Use good eye contact and body language, displaying a friendly and outgoing attitude, and be prepared to handle customer questions adequately and appropriately.
  • Relationship Building: Build trustful relationships with customers to encourage return visits.
Requirements
  • Age: 18 years of age or older.
  • Communication Skills: Strong listening and communications skills, face-to-face and virtually.
  • Problem-Solving: Problem-solving competence and eagerness to troubleshoot when necessary.
  • Customer Focus: Desire to work with customers.
  • Previous Experience: Previous retail or customer experience preferred but not required.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to operate cashier register system.
