Nuclear Medicine Imaging Specialist

MedStar Health is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform a full range of nuclear scans under the guidance of the Section Chief of Nuclear Medicine.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare Radioactive Isotopes: Prepare radioactive isotopes for administration to patients, filling hypodermic syringes with specified amounts and tagging components.
- Ensure Radiation Safety: Observe strict precautions in handling isotopes to safeguard against overexposure to radiation, following recommended guidelines from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
- Operate Imaging Equipment: Operate gamma cameras and related computers to conduct nuclear scans.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Keep records of tests conducted, test results, use, and disposition of isotopes.
- Participate in Safety Training: Attend all required safety training programs and describe responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards.
- Collaborate with Colleagues: Promote effective working relationships and work effectively as part of a department to facilitate the department's ability to meet its goals and objectives.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Certification: Must have completed an approved Nuclear Medicine Program and hold NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) or ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) certification.
- Licensure: Current Maryland State License.
