Diagnostic MRI Technologist

MedStar Health is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to perform diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations according to established imaging protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct patient interviews to identify contraindicated implants, foreign bodies, and other medical conditions of concern.
  • Verify prescription and protocol, using appropriate imaging parameters, and inject contrast based on patient weight after verifying the patient's renal function status.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining inventory of supplies, ensuring the work area is maintained at a high state of cleanliness, and promptly prepare films and CDs upon request.
  • Assist with protocol development and implementation, and train new personnel and Radiology School students regarding procedures, imaging protocols, and department policy.
  • Collect quality control data for manager, such as film usage, equipment problems, etc.
Requirements:
  • Associate degree or formal training in an American Medical Association accredited school of Radiologic Technology/Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
  • Job-related experience and/or successful completion of a formal MRI educational training program.
  • Successful Completion of either the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) MRI examination or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) examination within one year of date of hire for unregistered technologists.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support).
