Job Summary:

MedStar Health is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform a full range of nuclear scans under the guidance of the Section Chief of Nuclear Medicine. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of nuclear medicine principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare radioactive isotopes for administration to patients.
• Fill hypodermic syringe with specified amount of isotope and tagging component.
• Observe strict precautions in handling isotopes to safeguard against overexposure to radiation.
• Follow recommended guidelines of nuclear regulatory commission (NRC).
• Operate gamma camera and related computers.
• Keep records of test conducted, test results, use, and disposition of isotopes.
• Attend required safety training programs and describe responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards.
• Promote an effective working relationship and work effectively as part of a department inter and intra departmentally to facilitate the department's ability to meet its goals and objectives

Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completed an approved Nuclear Medicine Program.
• NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) or ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) certification.
• Current Maryland State License.

This position has a hiring range of $34.98 - $59.26.
