Job Summary

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Prisma Health, you will play a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases using radionuclides. You will work under the direction of the Manager/In-Charge Technologist and Medical Director to perform a variety of technical procedures that require a high degree of independent judgment and initiative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional patient care during clinical procedures, verifying patient identification and reviewing orders for procedure to be performed.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency situations, maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients and staff.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, selecting and administering the proper radionuclide/medication by the proper route and in the appropriate dosage.
  • Maintain and operate auxiliary equipment necessary for procedures, communicating effectively with patients and families.
  • Evaluate image appearance and perform additional views as required, processing and evaluating computer-generated data.
  • Prepare and administer interventional pharmacologic agents as directed by protocol, maintaining sterile technique as required.
  • Perform imaging, non-imaging, function studies, and therapeutic exams according to established departmental protocols.

Requirements

  • Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (ARRT(N) or NMTCB registry)
  • 1-year nuclear medicine experience
  • Excellent customer service skills, basic computer skills, and knowledge of office equipment
