Position Overview

As part of our commitment to safety and in alignment with federal contractor guidelines, National Grid requires all new hires to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment. This includes being two weeks post the final dose of a two-dose vaccine or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine. Exceptions for medical or religious reasons can be accommodated upon request.

Role Responsibilities

Under general supervision, you will undertake a variety of administrative and back-office tasks. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Managing incoming correspondence, including faxes, mail, and emails.
  2. Processing Automated Clearing House (ACH) notifications and tracking financial transactions.
  3. Updating accounts and making outbound calls based on account requirements.
  4. Conducting collections calls for Commercial & Industrial accounts.
  5. Researching and resolving inquiries from customers, agencies, and internal stakeholders.
  6. Investigating billing and payment discrepancies to ensure accurate revenue recognition.
  7. Coordinating activities to mitigate revenue loss, including compliance and theft investigations.
  8. Communicating effectively with external customers, vendors, and team members.

Qualifications

Skills:

  • Strong communication abilities with customers and partners.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly the MS Office Suite.
  • Solid mathematical skills.
  • Ability to analyze and reconcile financial transactions.
  • Experience in creating and managing reports in Excel or other systems.

Education:

A High School Diploma or equivalent is required (an Associate's Degree is preferred). A background of 1-3 years in Customer Service or Financial Business roles within an office environment is advantageous. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications is essential, along with strong verbal and written communication skills. Successful completion of skills assessments as determined by the company is required.

Compensation: The pay rate for this position is $15.16 per hour.
