Controller Director

We are seeking a highly skilled Controller Director to join our team at One Nevada Credit Union.
About the Job:
- The Controller Director will be responsible for planning and directing the fiscal record-keeping activities of the Credit Union and the functions within the accounting department.
- This individual will analyze operational trends, systems, and procedures to identify areas for improvement and recommend changes as needed.
- The Controller Director will also prepare budgets, financial statements, trend analyses, performance reports, and regulatory reports to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and direct the fiscal record-keeping activities of the Credit Union and the accounting department.
- Analyze operational trends, systems, and procedures to identify areas for improvement and recommend changes as needed.
- Prepare budgets, financial statements, trend analyses, performance reports, and regulatory reports to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
- Maintain financial reporting for all Credit Union subsidiaries.
- Select, train, motivate, discipline, conduct performance appraisals, and develop reporting staff members.
- Conduct periodic staff meetings and training programs.
- Establish goals and work plans for the department and monitor progress toward meeting those goals.
- Solve complex problems by providing solutions that meet quality service and Credit Union goals and objectives.
- Draft and propose department budget and monitor expenditures for assigned expense items.
- Serve in the absence of senior management, providing leadership and direction.
- Represent One Nevada at various internal and external functions to promote the Credit Union.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field.
- Five years of progressively responsible management and upper-level accounting experience.
- Thorough knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of automated accounting methods for a full-service financial institution.
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP and NCUA accounting requirements.
- Ability to analyze situations and recommend solutions.
- Ability to manage, direct, and supervise the work of others.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to coordinate a variety of functions simultaneously and prioritize work.
Salary:$120,000 - $150,000 per year based on experience.
