Position Overview

The Infantry serves as the essential core of the Army. These dedicated Soldiers are tasked with the critical responsibility of securing and maintaining territory during combat missions. You will engage, defend, and seize control of enemy positions utilizing sophisticated weaponry and tactical maneuvers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support reconnaissance missions
  • Deploy, operate, and retrieve anti-personnel and anti-tank mines
  • Manage weapon systems under diverse conditions, including target engagement with night vision technology
  • Operate and sustain communication devices
  • Function as a member of a fire team during both training exercises and combat operations
  • Process captured personnel and relevant intelligence
  • Assist in the mobilization of troops, vehicles, and armaments
  • Utilize, maintain, and secure combat firearms (e.g., rifles, machine guns, anti-tank mines, etc.)

Compensation While Learning
Instead of incurring costs to acquire these skills, you will earn a salary while training. In the Army National Guard, you will gain these essential job skills while receiving a consistent paycheck and qualifying for educational assistance.

Training Requirements
Training for an Infantryman entails 14 weeks of Basic Training followed by Advanced Individual Training (AIT). This period includes both classroom instruction and practical field exercises under simulated combat scenarios.

Requirements
  • Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
  • Must be at least a junior in high school, or possess a high school diploma or GED certificate
  • Age requirement: between 17 and 35
  • Must pass a physical examination and meet legal and moral standards
  • Must fulfill citizenship criteria
