Job Overview
FLEX College Prep is on the lookout for enthusiastic individuals with excellent communication abilities to join our team of instructors and teach Biology to middle and high school students. As many tutoring assignments are short-term, instructors will be engaged as temporary employees, with the potential for regular part-time employment after a 6-month review.

Key Responsibilities
As an Academic Instructor, you will:
  • Assist students both individually and in small groups with their academic coursework, standardized test preparation, and enrichment activities.
  • Develop and tailor lesson plans and curricula to provide targeted, individualized academic support.
  • Maintain detailed reports of sessions to monitor progress and adapt to students' evolving needs.
  • Support students in achieving their academic objectives while ensuring a positive learning experience.

Location
FLEX Irvine

Most sessions will take place in-center, with in-home sessions available only with prior consent from instructors, compensated at a higher rate.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related field is required (preferably from a U.S. Top 50 college or university).
  • Strong communication skills to build rapport with students and colleagues.
  • A genuine passion for education.
  • Experience in teaching or tutoring high school students.
  • Availability to work some evenings and Saturdays.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Formal experience and/or training in education.
  • Ability to teach multiple subjects (e.g., AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and ACT Math & Science).
  • Familiarity with standardized tests (AP, SAT II, SAT, ACT, etc.) relevant to your subjects.
  • Willingness to work at various locations.
