Job Title: Veterinary Assistant III

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant III to join our team at Bellevue Veterinary Emergency + Specialty. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and their owners.

Job Summary:

The Veterinary Assistant III will be responsible for assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians with medical procedures, administering medications, and providing top-notch patient care. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong commitment to animal welfare and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with medical procedures, including surgeries and exams.
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
  • Provide exceptional patient care, including cleaning and disinfecting exam rooms and equipment.
  • Obtain patient information, medical histories, and vaccination records.
  • Document patient information and update records as directed.
  • Provide education and resources to pet owners on animal care and health.
  • Monitor and track patient vital signs and physical condition.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests and fill prescriptions under the direction of veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
  • Support a practice environment that promotes collaboration and teamwork.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved Veterinary Assistant program preferred.
  • Medication Clerk Certification or willingness to become certified preferred.
  • 5 years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant.
Work Schedule:

Four 10-hour weekday shifts if working as a Surgery Assistant with alternating after-hours/weekend on-call (with compensation). 12-hour shifts 7am to 7pm if working in ER/ICU.
