What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities):

  • Foster a culture based on our core values: Respect, Learning, Integrity, Exceptional Service, and Enjoyment
  • Deliver professional, efficient, and high-quality medical care while ensuring optimal productivity.
  • Gather patient medical history from clients and referring veterinarians as necessary
  • Conduct initial assessments of pets, collecting relevant information and observing behaviors
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, diagnoses, procedures, and treatment phases
  • Restrain animals during examinations as required
  • Maintain accurate patient medical records and documentation
  • Collect and prepare samples for diagnostic testing
  • Perform laboratory tests and update patient medical charts accordingly
  • Educate clients on pet health, nutrition, and preventive care
  • Conduct X-rays and communicate results to the veterinarian
  • Fill prescriptions under veterinarian supervision
  • Administer medications and injections as directed
  • Perform venipunctures and catheter placements under supervision
  • Prepare patients and equipment for surgical procedures
  • Support a collaborative practice environment that ensures quality, compassionate, and effective healthcare for pets
  • Adhere to all practice policies and quality assurance standards
  • Perform additional duties or projects as assigned

Qualifications Required

Education:

  • Associate degree from an accredited veterinary technology program

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Valid state Veterinary Technician License in good standing
  • Successful completion of the Veterinary Technician National Examination

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality
  • Knowledge of veterinary hospital operations and procedures
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
  • Professional and compassionate interaction with clients and colleagues
  • Basic understanding of veterinary medications and equipment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and veterinary practice management software
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to perform life-saving procedures during emergencies

  • Calm communication in high-pressure situations

Work Schedule

  • Full-time and part-time positions available
