Job Summary

The Madison Area YMCA seeks a highly skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and improvement operations of our facilities, property, and vehicles. About the Role

This position requires the incumbent to work under the direction of the Director of Facilities Management, maintaining and improving the upkeep of our building(s), pool, equipment, and grounds. The ideal candidate will have three or more years of experience in facility maintenance and possess above-average knowledge of one of the trades (plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, masonry, painting, landscaping, electrical, etc.).

Responsibilities
  • Ensure Y facilities are attractive and clean by maintaining the upkeep of buildings, pools, and equipment.
  • Record and report all necessary repairs; repair as directed.
  • Advise management on maintenance issues and projects as requested.
  • General facilities maintenance, troubleshooting, and correcting mechanical, electrical, and plumbing-related issues.
  • Maintain assigned vehicles (and other equipment) according to policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Three or more years of experience in facility maintenance or a closely related field.
  • Mechanical and electrical experience required.
  • Above-average knowledge of one of the trades.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and documents.
  • Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
  • NJ Driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Black Seal License within 1 year of employment.
  • CPO certification required within 6 months of employment.
  • Experience with routine repairs, including plumbing and electrical.
Compensation

We offer an estimated annual salary range of $65,000 - $80,000, commensurate with experience. This includes opportunities for growth and professional development in a dynamic organization.

Working Conditions

This position requires sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties. Overtime hours must be approved prior to working. Ability to erect and stand on ladders and platforms at heights up to 30 feet is also required.
