We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Infrastructure Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Akima Systems Engineering in Madison, Wisconsin.

About the Role:

  • This is a full-time position responsible for maintaining and operating complex facilities infrastructure, including heating and cooling systems, laboratory equipment, and grounds maintenance.
  • The successful candidate will work independently and as part of a team to ensure seamless operations and maintenance of our facilities, ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and operate hot-water boilers, steam boilers, chillers, circulating pumps, and associated computer control systems, building control systems, and burner controls.
  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and upkeep work on laboratory equipment, including visual inspections, repairs, and inventory management.
  • Conduct grounds maintenance, including mowing, snow removal, and trimming vegetation, ensuring safe access to employees and visitors.
  • Participate in the Center occupational health program and obtain medical clearance to wear a respirator.

Requirements:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in AC/Heat systems, lab maintenance, and general maintenance.
  • Able to obtain and maintain the equivalent of a Public Trust clearance.
  • Valid driver's license for local travel via automobile.
  • Physical demands include standing or sitting for extended periods, lifting equipment and supplies over 50 pounds, and exposure to outside elements.
