Job Summary

The Medical Receptionist is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for welcoming patients to the Health Center and ensuring that all pre-exam requirements are met. This includes collecting co-payments, notifying the clinic of patient arrivals, and supporting the provider's schedules. The ideal candidate will be able to interact with patients and staff with tact and diplomacy, manage multiple priorities, and work well under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients to the Health Center and ensure that all pre-exam information is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Collect co-payments and notify the clinic of patient arrivals.
  • Provide schedule support to providers and ensure that patients and providers are notified accordingly.
  • Perform clerical duties as requested and provide information to patients and outside callers.
  • Record and deliver messages, and answer, screen, and route outside calls to the appropriate area or individual.
  • Conduct scheduling, reminder, and re-scheduling phone calls to patients.


Requirements

  • High School or Equivalent
  • Spanish speaking/bilingual is a plus
  • Ability to function in a busy office setting and manage difficult or emotional customer situations
  • Respond to requests for service and assistance and support the organization's goals and values
  • Flexible and able to maintain schedule commitments
