Job Overview

The Compliance Operations Specialist is tasked with the critical role of establishing and executing protocols to guarantee that MarginEdge effectively conducts due diligence and mitigates potential risks associated with our expanding Bill Pay service. This encompasses conducting KYC/KYB evaluations for our clientele and vendors utilizing Bill Pay, scrutinizing transactions for any suspicious or atypical activities, and addressing ACH Returns or Credit Card Chargebacks promptly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess incoming requests for setting up Bill Pay for restaurant clients and vendors.
  • Conduct KYC/KYB assessments, including bank verification and sanctions screening.
  • Perform ongoing reviews and monitoring of any alterations to client or vendor payment information.
  • Analyze, document, and respond to ACH Returns, Notices of Change, and Bankcard Chargebacks, aiming to minimize losses and avert future complications.
  • Engage in daily monitoring of electronic transactions, identifying unusually high amounts, out-of-pattern volumes, and verifying goods/services received, in alignment with established AML policies.
  • Implement and uphold exposure limits, including reviewing transaction volumes of newly activated Bill Pay users to set initial limits and adjust as necessary.
  • Contribute to policy and procedure reviews and audits related to payments regulatory compliance (NACHA and Bankcard) and best practices for risk mitigation.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Strong research and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret and apply government and financial industry regulations effectively.
  • Familiarity with operational and regulatory risk control concepts and practices.
  • Knowledge of NACHA rules, particularly regarding exposure and returns.
  • Understanding of bankcard chargeback rules and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite applications.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and monitor risk-mitigation strategies.
  • Background in the banking or payment processing sector.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • APRP Certification.
  • Experience in conducting AML investigations.
