Position Summary:
The Credit Risk Analytics Lead will spearhead the management of credit and fraud risks associated with our innovative lending solutions. Reporting directly to the General Manager of Lending, you will play a pivotal role in our leadership team. This position encompasses strategy, analytics, and operational responsibilities, focusing on planning, constructing, and executing initiatives across various departments. This is a unique opportunity to establish Remitly's lending operations from the ground up. We seek a leader with an entrepreneurial mindset, ready to engage hands-on while also possessing the leadership acumen to scale with our significant business potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee credit and fraud risk management, ensuring the economic sustainability of our lending offerings while maximizing the integrated lifetime value of our customers.
  • Develop and align the organization on key performance indicators, financial metrics, and risk parameters for our new products.
  • Manage the multi-year learning agenda and roadmap, as well as the credit and modeling infrastructure to meet established objectives.
  • Define credit policies and pricing structures for new product development, collaborating closely with various internal teams and external partners.
  • Establish comprehensive credit and fraud policies for customer acquisition and management, utilizing both internal and external data sources.
  • Work in conjunction with Legal, Compliance, Accounting, and Treasury teams to secure necessary licenses and funding sources for scalable operations.
  • Monitor and forecast performance metrics for new and existing customer portfolios to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team of analysts and data scientists responsible for end-to-end credit and fraud risk management.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in analytics and strategy roles, with a minimum of 5 years at a leading firm focused on analytics.
  • 5+ years of experience in credit risk management for credit products, particularly in acquisition stage underwriting.
  • Proven experience in managing analyst teams.
  • Experience in startup environments or leading initiatives from inception to execution.
  • In-depth knowledge of credit product performance and economics, with a successful track record in managing credit product contributions.
  • Experience in developing machine learning models for underwriting and pricing decisions.
  • Proven ability to communicate and gain buy-in for strategic visions across all organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical skills to establish decision frameworks balancing various business considerations.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field.
Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary range for this role typically falls between $176,000 and $220,000. Employees at Remitly are shareholders, and equity is included in our total compensation package.
