About the Role

As the Head of Public Sector Sales at Anthropic, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive go-to-market strategy to drive revenue growth and adoption of our AI products within the public sector. This includes building and leading a high-performing sales organization from the ground up, establishing strong partnerships with key public sector partners, and collaborating closely with Product and Marketing teams to tailor our offerings for government requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Execute Go-to-Market Strategy: Create and implement a strategic plan to drive revenue growth and adoption of our AI products within the public sector.
  • Build and Lead Sales Organization: Establish and lead a high-performing sales team, providing leadership, development, and guidance to ensure success.
  • Strengthen Partnerships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key public sector partners to accelerate adoption and drive revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with Product, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to tailor our offerings for government requirements and ensure alignment with overall sales strategy.
  • Analyze Market Trends: Continuously analyze public sector trends and dynamics to refine our go-to-market strategy and ensure we are meeting the evolving needs of our customers.
  • Oversee Sales Team: Provide guidance on deal strategy, stakeholder management, and sales performance to ensure the success of our sales team.
  • Foster Cross-Functional Collaboration: Encourage and facilitate collaboration across teams to drive alignment and achieve our sales goals.
Requirements
  • 10+ Years of Public Sector Sales Leadership Experience: Proven track record of driving revenue growth and leading high-performing sales teams within the public sector.
  • Active Security Clearance: Possess an active security clearance to work with government agencies and partners.
  • Track Record of Building High-Performing Teams: Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing sales teams that consistently exceed targets.
  • Deep Expertise in Public Sector Software/SaaS Sales: Proven experience in selling software and SaaS solutions to government agencies and partners.
  • Experience Managing Teams Focused on Federal, State, and Local Government: Proven ability to manage teams focused on federal, state, and local government sales and partnerships.
  • Strategic Mindset and Operational Expertise: Combination of strategic thinking and operational expertise to drive revenue growth and adoption of our AI products within the public sector.
  • Excellent Communication and Stakeholder Management Skills: Proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, including government agencies, partners, and internal teams.
