Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Assistant Manager to join our Labor Relations team in the Human Resources Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support on labor relations and employee relations matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent the County and the Human Resources Director in collective bargaining activities with employee union representatives.
  • Supervise and monitor the County's progressive disciplinary and grievance procedures.
  • Act as a liaison between County agencies and the County Attorney's Office to obtain legal reviews of employment cases.
  • Assist all levels of management in resolving complex employment issues, including progressive disciplinary actions, leaves of absence, and FMLA.
  • Participate in the Human Resources Division's and Labor Relations Section's outreach initiatives through training programs and consultation sessions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business or public administration, human resources, or a closely related field.
  • Four years of human resources administrative work specifically in the areas of labor relations or closely related experience, including one year of lead work or closely related experience.
  • Valid class E Florida Driver's License for the duration of assignment.

  • Juris Doctor (Employment Law)
  • Master's Degree or higher in a related field
  • HRCI-SPHR, IPMA-SCP, SHRM-SCP
  • HRCI-PHR, IMPA-CP, SHRM-CP
  • HR Certification from an accredited college
  • FPELRA FCLRP
  • NPELRA CLRP
  • Collective Bargaining/Management Experience
  • 2+ years of prior experience in Public Sector Employment/Labor Relations
  • 2+ years of prior experience with leave management and FMLA
  • 2+ years of prior performance management experience
  • 2+ years of prior supervisory experience
  • Prior PeopleSoft HCM experience
  • HRIS Experience (PeopleSoft)
