Key Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Installation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing field installations, managing customer service operations, and addressing fleet-related matters. This role collaborates closely with the General Manager to ensure the highest standards of installation quality and product integrity while directly supervising the Residential Install/Service Department personnel. The supervisor will carry out essential management functions in alignment with organizational policies and legal requirements. Key responsibilities include:
  • Recruiting, hiring, and training new team members.
  • Planning, assigning, and directing daily operations.
  • Evaluating employee performance and implementing reward and disciplinary measures.
  • Resolving customer complaints and operational challenges.

Duties and Expectations

This role involves analyzing specifications and capacity data to determine optimal processes, tools, and staffing needs. The Installation Supervisor will:
  • Identify and implement solutions for quality control challenges.
  • Manage fleet maintenance and inspect tools and equipment.
  • Conduct weekly safety briefings with field staff.
  • Collaborate with department supervisors and sales teams to assess project statuses.
  • Facilitate operations to mitigate schedule delays and adapt to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Train new installers and provide hands-on support during complex installations.
  • Ensure quality standards are upheld by all Residential Installers and Service personnel.
  • Disseminate crucial product information to field staff.
  • Maintain a comprehensive weekly logbook of ongoing projects and scheduled training sessions.
  • Review completed Sales Orders daily to identify discrepancies and report payroll totals.

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and familiarity with AS400 and JD Edwards.
  • A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in operations management, outside sales, or accounting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a self-motivated and organized approach.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities and a talent for managing business metrics.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills and problem-solving capabilities.
  • The ability to multitask and assist in warehouse operations as needed.
  • A valid driver's license.

Educational Background

A college degree in Sales, Marketing, or Business is preferred but not mandatory.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods in a non-climate-controlled environment and lift up to 50 pounds.
