Position Overview:

The Field Engineer is responsible for the programming and installation of security systems, including Card Access, CCTV, CATV, and Intrusion systems, in accordance with manufacturer specifications and engineering designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues in a senior service support capacity, which includes testing and verifying system components, connections, and installation quality.
  2. Interpret advanced system schematics, specifications, and technical documentation, while also preparing shop drawings and project submittals.
  3. Oversee technical operations in the field with minimal supervision.
  4. Engage in both in-house and fieldwork as necessary.
  5. Take ownership of project installations, providing support to field personnel and project managers, including advanced assistance for installation teams.
  6. Contribute to the completion of project punch lists for successful project closures.
  7. Supervise the technical elements of projects.
  8. Conduct quality assessments on projects, ensuring all equipment functions correctly and compiling punch lists.
  9. Support sales teams with product and system demonstrations as required.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Compensation:

Hourly Rate: USD $45.00 - $48.00

Tools Required:

  • Basic hand tools including screwdrivers, levels, tape measures, pliers, and crimping tools, as well as specialized equipment like multimeters and coax compression tools.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 3-4 years of experience in commercial security systems cabling.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, MS Project).
  • Must meet company driving standards.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to define project scopes, develop detailed tasks, and oversee projects to completion.
