Administrative Support Specialist

Position Overview
This role is pivotal in providing essential information regarding the organization’s services and programs. Responsibilities include managing deliveries and donations, welcoming visitors, and offering administrative support to various programs, including Social Services and seasonal initiatives. Additionally, the position involves assisting with children's activities in an after-school setting and performing routine clerical tasks such as typing and filing.
Key Responsibilities
1. Direct phone calls to the appropriate personnel or departments.
2. Assist callers and visitors with professionalism and courtesy.
3. Accurately record messages and maintain communication logs.
4. Ensure an adequate supply of informational materials is available for visitors.
5. Respond effectively to emergencies while maintaining composure.
6. Uphold a positive and professional representation of the organization.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Previous experience in customer service or receptionist roles is preferred.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
• Valid State Driver's License is preferred.
Physical and Working Conditions
This position requires the ability to meet attendance standards and effectively communicate in English. The role involves operating a multi-line telephone and performing clerical duties that may include sorting documents and assisting in the food pantry. The work environment is typically an office setting with minimal physical discomforts.
