Position Summary

The Identity & Access Management Specialist is responsible for ensuring proper physical and logical access to UMC systems, applications, and sensitive areas. This role is critical in performing precise and timely user account management while collaborating with various business units to mitigate access-related security risks.

The specialist will also engage in compliance initiatives, access management projects, and process enhancement activities under the supervision of the Information Security Officer (ISO).


Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain security clearance information for personnel and facilities.
  • Oversee access control systems (both physical and logical).
  • Conduct Security Profile Assessments to verify appropriate security clearance levels for each role.
  • Collaborate with HR, physical security, and department heads to assess access requirements.
  • Ensure the functionality and integrity of the security camera system.
  • Manage the infant tracking system.
  • Coordinate with system vendors to ensure optimal uptime and address issues promptly.
  • Troubleshoot user access challenges and provide effective solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing user access request processes.
  • Provide on-call support for urgent matters, including after-hours assistance.
  • Monitor adherence to established security rules and regulations.
  • Ensure that procedures and knowledge articles remain current and relevant.
  • Regularly engage with application owners and the physical security director to maintain alignment between teams.
  • Perform all other duties related to assigned responsibilities.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Information Technology concepts and applications.

Licenses/Certifications
  • Security+ certification is required within the first year of employment.

Skills and Competencies
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven customer service orientation.

Collaboration
This role requires interaction with UMC employees, medical staff, technical personnel, and vendors.

Physical Requirements
The position involves walking, sitting, and standing during work hours. Occasional lifting of equipment up to 50 pounds is necessary. Adequate hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills are essential.

Work Environment
