Position Summary
The Identity & Access Management Specialist is responsible for ensuring that appropriate physical and logical access is granted to UMC systems, applications, and sensitive areas. This role is crucial in maintaining security protocols and minimizing access-related risks.
Key Responsibilities
Daily tasks may include, but are not limited to:
- Overseeing personnel and facility security clearance records.
- Managing both physical and logical access control systems.
- Conducting Security Profile Assessments to verify that security clearance levels align with job requirements.
- Collaborating with HR, physical security, and departmental leaders to assess access needs.
- Ensuring the functionality and integrity of the security camera system.
- Maintaining the infant tracking system.
- Coordinating with system vendors to ensure high availability and address issues promptly.
- Troubleshooting user access problems and providing effective solutions.
- Identifying opportunities for enhancing user access request processes.
- Providing on-call support for urgent matters, including after-hours assistance.
- Monitoring adherence to established security regulations.
- Keeping procedures and knowledge articles current and relevant for each application and process.
- Regularly meeting with application owners and the physical security director to ensure alignment and understanding.
- Performing any other duties related to assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Information Technology concepts and applications.
Certifications
- Security+ certification is required within the first year of employment.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven customer service orientation.
Collaboration
This role requires interaction with UMC employees, medical staff, technical personnel, and vendors.
Physical Requirements
The position involves walking, sitting, and standing during duty hours. Occasional lifting of equipment up to 50 pounds is necessary, along with adequate hand/eye coordination and fine motor skills.
Work Environment
The role is primarily conducted indoors, with varying indoor temperatures.
