Position Overview: The Jimmie Austin Golf Course is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of golf course upkeep and landscape management.

The Turf Management Specialist is responsible for the operation of various maintenance and landscaping tools and equipment to ensure the golf course and its surroundings are kept in pristine condition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Mowing and maintaining greens, tees, fairways, rough areas, native areas, and other designated sections
  • Raking, trimming, and maintaining bunkers to ensure playability
  • Hand-watering turf areas as directed by supervisors
  • Hand trimming and edging various landscape features
  • Applying pesticides and fertilizers under the guidance of experienced personnel
  • Operating maintenance equipment safely and effectively
  • Performing basic preventive maintenance on tools and machinery as instructed
  • Reporting any equipment issues to the Equipment Manager promptly
  • Carrying out other essential duties as assigned by management
Education Requirements:
None required. Essential Skills:
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Competence in reading and comprehending written instructions
Certifications Needed:
A valid Oklahoma Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.

Physical Demands:
  • Capability to bend, reach, grasp, lift, stand, move, crouch, push, and pull as necessary
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior professional experience in landscaping or groundskeeping
  • Familiarity with turf and landscape maintenance practices
  • Experience in performing preventive maintenance tasks
Supervision Structure:
This position reports to the Director of Golf Course Grounds & Maintenance and will receive general oversight from senior grounds personnel.

Additional Information:
Final candidates will be subject to health testing policies as required.
