As a dedicated entity addressing poverty, NYCP serves over 104,000 unique individuals and welcomes more than 660,000 visitors annually, promoting dignity, health, and self-sufficiency through a comprehensive approach.
Role Summary:NYCP is in search of a Senior Proposal Specialist to enhance our Development team. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Development and Communications, this role will spearhead the creation of grant proposals for corporate, foundation, and government funding, as well as manage interim and final reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the organization’s grant writing efforts and oversee the proposal management process, ensuring alignment with programmatic and budgetary requirements.
- Manage a portfolio of over 80 grants, which constitute approximately 75% of revenue projections.
- Develop and implement systems, templates, and strategies for effective grants management across the organization, including proposal development and submission.
- Achieve annual revenue targets and monitor performance against established benchmarks and pipeline tools.
- Utilize Raiser's Edge fundraising software to generate reports as required.
- Draft various communications, including newsletters, acknowledgments, and annual reports.
- Contribute to special events and projects within the Development team.
A Bachelor’s Degree is required, along with a minimum of five years of experience in both private and public grant writing. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting communities in need and align with NYCP's mission.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational abilities are essential. Experience working collaboratively in cross-departmental teams is preferred.
Proficiency in computer software, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools, is advantageous. Familiarity with Raiser's Edge or similar fundraising database software, as well as knowledge of NYC foundations and corporate funders, is a plus.
