Position Overview:

As a key member of the executive leadership team, the Vice President of Commercial Strategy will play a pivotal role in driving the success of The Ladders through three primary domains:

1) Strategic Development & Expansion - The incumbent will collaborate closely with the CEO, CFO, and senior management to formulate and execute strategic growth initiatives, which include but are not limited to:

a. Conducting comprehensive research to gain insights into the competitive landscape and positioning, including our offerings, clientele, and purchasing behaviors.

b. Identifying adjacent services and supporting strategies to enhance or broaden current offerings to fulfill client requirements.

c. Analyzing market trends and their potential implications for the business; devising strategies to capitalize on opportunities or mitigate risks.

d. In partnership with subject matter experts, monitoring changes in regulatory or payer policies that could affect our operations and clientele.

e. Establishing The Ladders as the preferred partner for our clients.

2) Revenue Generation & Sales - The incumbent will spearhead the development, implementation, and management of company-wide business development initiatives aligned with corporate growth and revenue objectives, including:

a. Crafting client targeting and outreach strategies based on market positioning.

b. Engaging in high-level discussions with clients, showcasing how The Ladders can deliver value and support their professional advancement.

c. Facilitating lead generation and conversion opportunities (sales).

d. Leading negotiations and deal-making processes (pricing structures, discounting strategies, etc.).

e. Building and managing relationships through networking.

f. Providing operational leadership in commercial processes.

g. Utilizing commercial analytics to comprehend trends, priorities, and actionable insights.

3) Marketing Oversight -

a. Directing marketing efforts and providing leadership on digital marketing campaigns, communication strategies, and thought leadership initiatives, as well as enhancing external visibility through various opportunities.

4) Partnership Management -

a. Cultivating and developing existing or prospective partnerships to maximize revenue potential.

b. Collaborating with business unit leaders to support key account planning and relationship management.

c. Overseeing critical vendor relationships to ensure The Ladders can provide comprehensive solutions to our clients where technical or operational gaps exist.

5) Commercial Leadership - The VP will champion commercial best practices across the organization, fostering a culture of client service and enhancing the overall consultative sales skill set throughout the company.

The Vice President of Commercial Strategy will be ultimately accountable for supporting the organization in achieving its sales targets, which directly contribute to revenue and profitability.

- Profound understanding of the professional services landscape and development processes.

- Experience engaging with clients in various sectors, including technology and professional services.

- Proven track record of translating strategic priorities into actionable project plans and delivering results.

- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional environments and influence stakeholders beyond one's direct management chain.

- Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; negotiation experience is advantageous.

- Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.

- Entrepreneurial mindset with innovative problem-solving skills.

- Capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.

- Familiarity with key business performance metrics (sales, revenue, profit).

Education:

- MBA or equivalent experience.
