POSITION OVERVIEW: The Hazardous Materials Transport Specialist will be tasked with the safe transportation of various waste streams from multiple generator sites. This role involves operating straight trucks and tractor trailers to collect both bulk and containerized hazardous and non-hazardous waste. The specialist will perform a range of duties in compliance with governmental regulations and established procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate various types of trucks, including roll-offs, tankers, and box trucks.
  • Conduct less-than-load (LTL) pickups.
  • Maintain accurate driver documentation, including logbooks and waste manifests.
  • Ensure proper placarding, load securement, and HAZMAT load segregation.
  • Adhere to state weight limit regulations.
  • Perform routine maintenance on company vehicles.
  • Utilize company technology, including mobile applications and software, as directed.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Engage effectively with customers to ensure satisfaction.
  • Process hazardous and non-hazardous materials as required.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness at facilities and surrounding areas.
  • Participate in site safety programs and required training.
  • Carry out additional related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, and compressor systems.
  • Familiarity with pumps, motors, motor controls, and instrumentation.
  • Proficient in using hand and shop tools.
  • Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Class A Commercial Driver's License with hazardous material and tanker endorsements, or the ability to obtain these endorsements within a specified timeframe.
