Job Summary

Mercer Distribution and Transport is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Warehouse Labor Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will be responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing freight in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Material Handling Equipment: Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other hand trucks to move inventory throughout the warehouse.
  • Unload and Store Freight: Unload inbound trucks and containers, sort and store inventory as needed, and ensure accurate and efficient storage practices.
  • Pick, Wrap, and Label Orders: Select and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring accurate and timely fulfillment.
  • Perform Cycle Counts: Conduct regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
  • Inspect and Maintain Equipment: Regularly inspect and perform maintenance on forklifts and other material handling equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Relocate Product and Maintain Warehouse Cleanliness: Move inventory as needed and maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, including sweeping floors and keeping aisles clear of debris.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Skills: Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions; proficient in mathematics; knowledge of various material handling equipment preferred.
  • Experience: 2 years of forklift experience preferred; forklift certification required.
