The Resident Transport Specialist is tasked with the safe and courteous transportation of residents. This position involves operating company vehicles, ensuring their upkeep, and providing a positive travel experience for all passengers.
In addition to driving duties, this role may involve assisting with facility maintenance and housekeeping tasks to ensure full-time hours are maintained.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the care team to transport new residents from local healthcare facilities.
- Safely pick up and deliver elderly or physically limited individuals using specialized transport vehicles.
- Practice defensive driving techniques at all times.
- Assist residents in entering and exiting vehicles, utilizing ramps and securement devices as necessary.
- Plan efficient routes by interpreting maps and driving directions.
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicles, perform minor maintenance, and schedule necessary service.
- Keep accurate records of trips, fuel usage, incidents, and vehicle conditions.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, providing first aid until professional help arrives.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 25 years.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience in caring for individuals in a similar capacity is preferred; prior experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant is advantageous.
- Exhibit a professional demeanor and appearance to represent the company effectively.
- Adhere to confidentiality standards in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
