Position Overview

The Communications Rapid Response Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the communications team by creating and refining rapid response documents, which include statements, talking points, and press releases. This position involves organizing press calls, disseminating materials to journalists, and performing various related tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the communications team to develop and implement the DNC's rapid response strategy;
  • Execute special projects and messaging events;
  • Oversee the distribution and quality of written content, from initial drafting to final delivery;
  • Engage in outreach to reporters and ensure timely distribution of DNC materials;
  • Monitor current events and identify opportunities to further the DNC's messaging objectives;
  • Perform additional duties as required to support the department and advance the DNC's mission.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in political communications or a related field;
  • Strong interest in staying informed about the news cycle;
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills across various media;
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

The starting salary for this position is $68,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. This role may involve travel, potentially up to 15% of the time. It is a full-time, exempt position that may require weekend work.
