Rapid Response Registered Nurse

The George Washington University Hospital seeks a skilled and compassionate Rapid Response Registered Nurse to join our team. As a critical member of our healthcare team, the Rapid Response RN will provide immediate and specialized care to patients experiencing medical emergencies or changes in their condition.
Responsibilities- Assessment and Intervention: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' conditions to identify critical issues and potential complications, and provide timely interventions to prevent further deterioration and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Clinical Expertise: Utilize advanced clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills to administer medications, perform procedures, and implement necessary treatments.
- Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and other specialists, to communicate observations, assessments, and recommendations for patient care.
- Coordination and Documentation: Coordinate and facilitate the rapid response team's actions, ensuring seamless transitions between departments and units as needed, and maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Patient Education and Advocacy: Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers regarding the patient's condition, treatment plan, and potential outcomes, and serve as an advocate for patients' needs and rights.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- License and Certification: DC RN License, or eligibility, and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in critical care settings.
- Skills and Abilities: Strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and communication skills, with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care and a patient-centered approach.
