VAS Solutions Sales Engineer for Issuing

We are looking for a driven and knowledgeable Manager of Issuing Value-Added Services (VAS) – Solutions Sales Engineer. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in the financial services sector and be adept at addressing the specific challenges faced by issuing clients.
The Manager of Issuing VAS - Solutions Sales Engineer will assist prospective clients in understanding, evaluating, and differentiating the available solutions, ensuring successful implementation post-purchase. This position collaborates closely with the sales team and initiates engineering efforts once a foundational relationship has been established, ensuring that both the client and their technical team are well-informed about all technical aspects and implications of the deployment.
This role is integral to the broader Value-Added Services Sales team, primarily focusing on selling services related to payments and account-to-account transactions, with potential expansion into additional products and services over time. Internally, this position requires collaboration with various cross-functional teams, including but not limited to Generalist Sellers, Sales Operations, Product, Strategy, Client Services, Digital Partners, and Marketing.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all Issuing VAS solutions.
- Facilitate solution design discussions and conduct in-depth workshops with clients to accurately define tailored solutions.
- Lead large-scale direct bank and reseller projects.
- Support RFI/RFP processes by providing well-crafted, thoughtful responses to client inquiries.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth client transitions, engaging with and influencing all organizational levels, including senior executives.
- Identify potential implementation issues and coordinate resolutions with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of Solution Design Guides.
- Assist in the creation and management of internal documentation.
- Reinforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) both internally and externally.
- Verify that clients meet the necessary requirements to support the solution and ensure they comprehend the expectations during the implementation phase.
- Effectively manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously.
- Collaborate with downstream payment service providers, card networks, and other third parties during implementation.
- Adopt a solution-oriented approach and continuously seek ways to enhance customer experience.
- Provide market insights and updates to the Product organization to improve solutions and share best practices.
- Foster teamwork while promoting a culture of openness and adaptability.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for driving and achieving the Payments and Account-to-Account Solutions, potentially including other Issuer Value-Added Services over time, through collaboration with Account Executives and Account Managers to acquire new customers or upsell existing clients.
- Engage in acquiring new clients and retaining/growing existing clients in partnership with market product teams.
- Comprehend clients' complex challenges and leverage Visa technology to develop effective solutions.
- Champion Visa's value-based sales methodology, ensuring client outcomes and Visa revenue realization through post-sale commercialization and mutual success planning.
- Work alongside the sales team to prepare proposals, presentations, and other sales materials that showcase our solutions' technical capabilities and advantages.
- Engage with internal cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Product Development, Client Support, and Product Marketing, to relay market feedback and contribute to the design of new solutions.
- Identify, qualify, and quantify market-specific opportunities in close cooperation with local relationship management and product teams.
This position operates in a hybrid model, allowing employees to alternate between remote and office work. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 designated days a week, as determined by leadership, with a general guideline of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of 6 years of work experience with a bachelor's degree, or 4 years of relevant experience with an advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD), or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD.
- Demonstrated experience in team and project leadership.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills to influence high-ranking international clients.
- Comprehensive understanding of the payments landscape, including key entities, competitive dynamics, and industry trends.
- Proficient in both French and English for negotiation, conversation, and presentation.
- Able to work independently while also being an active team player.
- Technical proficiency with the ability to understand complex technological solutions and market challenges.
- In-depth knowledge of the payments ecosystem, including risks, customer engagement, payment security, processing, and compliance mandates.
- A natural ability to simplify and effectively communicate complex ideas.
- Confident in engaging with both high-level executives and technical experts.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Cultural awareness and strong interpersonal relationship management skills.
- Ability to articulate complex systems clearly to business units and with technical detail to IT groups.
- Proactive in understanding client needs to tailor implementations accordingly.
- Anticipates client preferences and customizes presentations and demonstrations to align with them.
- Foresees stakeholder objections and prepares strategic plans to mitigate their impact.
