Court Operations Supervisor

Department: Clerk of Superior Court
Role Overview
Under general supervision, this position involves overseeing clerical and support staff while performing routine tasks of moderate complexity.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and assess the operations of multiple units or distinct functions.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate clerical and support staff.
- Develop and implement new or revised operational protocols.
- Create and manage various programs.
- Handle evidence for trials and hearings, ensuring proper identification and retention.
- Establish employee work schedules.
- Engage in all personnel-related activities.
- Analyze financial and project data, providing recommendations.
- Perform deputy clerk duties as needed and compile data for reports.
- Execute other job-related tasks as assigned.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible clerical and/or general office experience, including three (3) years in a supervisory or lead role.
Additional Requirements:
Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license.

Knowledge of:
- Court system regulations and policies governing the department.
- Arizona Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees and Clerk of Court and Yavapai County policies.
- Business English, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and composition.
- Clerical office practices and procedures.
- Current Microsoft Office applications.
- Filing and recordkeeping systems.
- Time management.
- Effective and professional communication, both verbally and in writing.
- Establishing and maintaining productive working relationships.
- Organization and attention to detail.
- Review and verify the work of others for compliance with standards.
- Complete detailed tasks accurately in accordance with departmental standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of court proceedings and documents.
- Adhere to the Arizona Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees and relevant policies.
- Work effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment.
- Develop and sustain effective working relationships with various stakeholders.
- Keep management informed of significant operational issues.
- Stay current with knowledge necessary for assigned duties.
- Handle sensitive matters with discretion.
- Interact professionally with colleagues, court participants, and the public.
- Exhibit courtesy, tact, and diplomacy.
The work environment is typical of an office setting, adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, sufficient vision for reading materials and screens, and the ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone. Must be capable of frequent repetitive movements and able to lift up to 30 pounds.
