Role Overview:
Under general supervision, this position involves a variety of complex tasks both in the courtroom and office settings, aimed at facilitating the efficient operation of court services and functions for the Clerk of Superior Court.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare for and attend court hearings and trials of varying complexity and duration.
- Issue warrants and summonses, process court orders, and prepare minute entries.
- Open criminal cases and manage documentation generated in court proceedings.
- Report the outcomes of criminal cases to relevant state agencies and administer various oaths.
- Oversee and manage exhibits submitted during court sessions, ensuring proper processing, storage, and tracking in accordance with legal statutes and established procedures.
- Ensure the quality of audio recordings and review the work of other clerical staff for compliance with regulations and policies.
- Access, input, and maintain data within a database system, while performing additional job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible clerical and/or administrative experience.
Additional Requirements:
Must possess a valid driver's license.

- Court system rules, statutes, and regulations.
- Professional conduct standards for judicial employees.
- Business English, spelling, grammar, and composition.
- Clerical office practices and procedures.
- Proficiency in current Microsoft Office software and recordkeeping practices.

- Providing excellent customer service and managing time effectively.
- Communicating professionally in both verbal and written formats.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues and the public.
- Organizing tasks with attention to detail.
Abilities:
- Take and transcribe notes accurately into comprehensive records.
- Complete detailed work in compliance with departmental standards.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding court proceedings and documents.
- Work effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
- Develop and sustain professional relationships with various stakeholders.
Work Environment:
The work environment is primarily office-based, adequately lighted, and climate-controlled.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Sufficient vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; effective communication abilities in person and over the phone.
- Capability for repetitive movements and lifting up to 30 pounds.
