About the Position:

Job Summary:

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the Yavapai County team as a Court Operations Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising clerical and support personnel, planning and coordinating activities, and evaluating the performance of staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervision and Training: Supervise, train, and evaluate clerical and support personnel to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties effectively.
  • Operational Planning: Plan, coordinate, and evaluate the activities of several units or separate functions to ensure efficient and effective operation.
  • Program Development: Develop and implement new or revised operating procedures, and develop various programs to improve departmental performance.
  • Exhibit Management: Receive, mark, and release exhibits for trials and evidentiary hearings, and maintain the exhibit closet at the Verde Courthouse.
  • Scheduling and Personnel: Determine employee work schedules, participate in personnel-related activities, and analyze departmental financial and project data to make recommendations.
  • Deputy Clerk Duties: Perform duties of deputy clerk when necessary, and extract data for reports.
  • Other Duties: Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible clerical and/or general office experience, to include three (3) years in a supervisory or lead capacity.
  • Additional Requirements: Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge: Court system rules, statutes, and regulations governing the department, Arizona Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees, and Clerk of Court and Yavapai County policies.
  • Skills: Business English, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and composition, clerical office practices and procedures, current Microsoft Office software, filing and recordkeeping.
  • Abilities: Time management, communicating effectively and professionally, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships, organization and adherence to detail, reviewing or checking the work of others, completing detailed work accurately, maintaining confidentiality, adhering to department standards, working under pressure, developing and maintaining effective working relationships, keeping management informed, remaining current in knowledge required to perform assigned duties, handling confidential matters, and working professionally and effectively with co-workers, parties, victims of crime, witnesses, and the general public.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, sufficient vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, hearing and speech ability to communicate effectively in-person and telephonically, capable of frequent repetitive movement of arms, fingers, and wrists, and ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
