Director of Programs and Membership

The YMCA of Greater Tulsa Association seeks a highly skilled and experienced leader to oversee its branch operations. This key role is responsible for the overall success of the branch, ensuring alignment with the Association's policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the management of programs, membership, volunteer and staff recruitment and development, fundraising, and collaborations with community agencies.
  • Work closely with Association Staff to ensure consistency of programs and membership, innovation, strategy, and risk management.
Essential Functions:
  • Drive membership sales and recruitment growth through effective marketing strategies and community outreach.
  • Develop and manage budgets, expenses, and income generation for the branch, ensuring financial sustainability and growth.
  • Oversight of all program areas within the branch, including program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with Association Directors to create innovative strategies and solutions to drive business growth and development.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead volunteers and staff to achieve Annual Campaign goals and objectives.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead the board of advisors, ensuring effective governance and strategic direction.
  • Lead program and membership staff, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
  • Ensure facility cleanliness and safety through regular communication with property managers and maintenance teams.
  • Foster communication between departments to inform members of available programs and opportunities, driving engagement and participation.
  • Work with the VP of Talent and Culture to ensure safe program and facility operations, adhering to Association policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the COO to ensure effective marketing strategies and promotional activities.
  • Coordinate scheduling to ensure seamless facility operations, minimizing conflicts and maximizing efficiency.
  • Assist with annual promotion planning for programs, including marketing materials and communications, to drive growth and engagement.
  • Meet deadlines and complete assignments accurately and timely, demonstrating a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience in a related field or company.
  • Minimum 5 years YMCA exempt/professional work experience or equivalent in a related field or company.
  • Volunteer or staff supervision experience, with a proven track record of leadership and development.
  • Proven ability to raise funds and grow membership, with a strong understanding of community engagement and development.
  • Proven ability to work with a volunteer board/committee, with a strong understanding of governance and strategic direction.
  • Knowledge of the YMCA as a membership organization, with a strong understanding of its mission, values, and goals.
  • Knowledge and experience in budgeting, financial development, and board/community relations, with a strong understanding of financial management and sustainability.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in a related field or company.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a strong ability to articulate vision and strategy.
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish, with a strong ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Current CPR/AED, First Aid, O2 Certification, with a strong commitment to safety and risk management.
