The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is currently seeking a Retail Operations Supervisor to create and maintain a welcoming workplace, develop strong customer relationships, enhance staff morale, and meet sales objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a welcoming atmosphere and maintain positive customer interactions.
  • Ensure adherence to the Guide to Thrift Store & Donation Centers Operations manual and all relevant policies and procedures, including administering verbal and written warnings as necessary.
  • Meet sales, production, and expense budget goals to ensure a profitable operation.
  • Oversee the appropriate display of all merchandise on the sales floor after it is received from the back room.
  • Participate in the hiring process, recommend candidates for employment, and conduct regular performance evaluations for store staff.
  • Lead monthly staff and safety meetings while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and organizational policies.
  • Effectively schedule all sales associates to guarantee store coverage at all times and manage biweekly payroll processes.
  • Order merchandise to maintain optimal store inventory and organize products according to the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.
  • Provide training, supervision, and guidance to new and existing employees to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Manage cash receipts, ensure proper accounting and banking procedures, and submit daily sales reports to the finance department.
  • Promptly report any OSHA, CPSC, or other regulatory body site visits or communications to the Administrator.
  • Stay updated on new policies and changes by attending manager meetings and communicating directives to store personnel.
  • Ensure property protection and report any safety hazards, damages, or injuries to the appropriate authorities.
  • Supervise beneficiaries engaged in work therapy at the store, exemplifying professionalism and work ethic.
  • Carry out any additional assignments as delegated by the immediate supervisor or Administrator.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior sales experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership, management, and motivational abilities.
  • Ability to interpret basic income and expense reports.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a satisfactory DMV record.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work in any store location under the ARC Center's direction.
