Job Summary

The State of Delaware is seeking a highly skilled Tax Operations Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our Accounts Management unit, you will be responsible for managing a team of 10-15 employees and overseeing the management of critical business functions, including customer contact, accounting of employer tax assessments, and benefits paid to claimants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate operations and performance of professional staff involved in the UI Tax Program or similar tax programs
  • Supervise two or more merit full-time positions, including planning, assigning, reviewing, evaluating, coaching, training, disciplining, and recommending hire, termination, and promotion
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures
  • Make recommendations for new or revised UI processes and procedures to facilitate effectiveness and compliance
  • Participate in the development or modification of UI program systems
  • Provide technical UI assistance to Deputy Attorney General in litigation matters
  • Prepare statistical, financial, and/or narrative reports
  • Use automated information systems and computer software to research, review, evaluate, and report on financial data
Requirements
  • One year of experience in auditing, examining, preparing, analyzing, or reconciling financial accounts and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures
  • One year of experience in preparing financial summaries and reports that clearly and accurately document findings, supporting facts, and recommendations
  • Six months of experience in analyzing tax discrepancies or related problems, developing alternatives, recommending, and advising on solutions
  • Coursework, training, and/or work experience in staff supervision, which may include performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others
