The Opportunity

Genentech is seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Analyst to join our Hillsboro Technical Operations team. This is a one-year fixed-term position with the potential opportunity to be extended as needed.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the site's right to operate through QC sampling and testing, ensuring a state of inspection readiness, and performing various laboratory assays. They will also be responsible for following company policies and procedures, performing water sampling and environmental monitoring, and implementing improvement opportunities that support Quality Control.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in science or a related field and at least two years of work experience in similar roles. They will also possess strong verbal and written communication skills, flexibility to work different shifts, and the ability to interpret and apply quality standards to operational activities.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a state of inspection readiness
  • Perform testing of various laboratory assays (e.g. pH, Endotoxin, Bioburden)
  • Follow company policies and procedures
  • Perform water sampling and Environmental Monitoring
  • Perform reagent preparation
  • Perform laboratory sweeps
  • Apply basic theory and technical principles to address problems
  • Implement improvement opportunities that support Quality Control
  • Serve as the Quality Control point of contact
  • Perform data review and/or trending
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in science or a related field
  • At least two years of work experience in similar roles
  • Flexibility to work different shifts
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply quality standards to operational activities
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work onsite in an office and laboratory environment, working a 4x10 schedule (Sun-Wed or Wed-Sat) swing or day shift. They will be required to lift up to 25 pounds and have the ability to enter data into a computerized system for up to 30% of their time.

The work environment requires gowning with gloves and steel toe boots, and no makeup or jewelry can be worn when working in the clean room environment. The candidate will also work with hazardous materials and chemicals.
