We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Gifts Officer to join our External Relations team at the Salk Institute. As a key member of our fundraising team, you will be responsible for identifying and closing major gifts to advance the mission of scientific discovery at the Salk Institute.
Key Responsibilities- Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of principal gift prospects/donors for the purposes of qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Work in a collaborative way with the fundraising team and other External Relations Departments to identify and steward major gift prospects/donors.
- Gift Identification and Stewardship: Identify, cultivate, close, and steward gifts at a principal gift level based on an annual system of metrics.
- Faculty Relationships: Establish positive and strategic working relationships with Faculty.
- Core Values: Demonstrate core values of integrity, community, accountability, respect, and empowerment to donors, colleagues, faculty, and volunteers.
- Strategic Fundraising: Participate in planning and implementing effective fund-raising strategies that consider the unique mission of Salk and the special needs of donors and potential donors.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Minimum of eight to ten years of related experience and/or training.
- Skills: Computer skills required: Development Software; Microsoft Office.
The Salk Institute offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 to $155,000 per annum, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, patient advocacy services, and transit/parking program.
