Job Title: Director of Gift Planning

The Salvation Army is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Gift Planning to lead our Gift Planning Program within their assigned Divisional coverage area. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, finalizing, and stewarding gift plan commitments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Gift Planning Program to achieve the goals set for identifying and establishing gift commitments.
  • Maintain and build relationships with all appropriate Corps Officers and staff in their area.
  • Manage a portfolio of 75-150 existing life income donors and maintain annual stewardship for all living bequest donors within their area.
  • Collaborate with Corps Officers, Donor Relations Directors, and Development staff to provide donors with exceptional service and support.
  • Meet with Corps Officers a minimum of two times per year and schedule joint DRD-donor meetings and Corps Officer-donor meetings as needed.
  • Report all communication activities in our CRM and report all gift production in the Gift Report module.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in gift planning and development, with a strong track record of identifying and securing significant gifts.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with donors, Corps Officers, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective strategies to achieve gift planning goals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and other relevant tools and technologies.
