Position Overview:

As a vital member of the Windstream Corporate Expense team, the Junior Accountant will assist in the revenue accounting processes, ensuring the precise and timely documentation of revenue transactions while aiding in the preparation of financial reports. This role encompasses oversight and management of revenue and expense reporting, including but not limited to accruals, deferrals, periodic reconciliations, write-offs, receivables management, payment tracking, and reclassification based on established or evolving business rules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate month-end grid analysis and present financials to the Controller.
  • Collaborate with business units reliant on revenue and expense reporting.
  • Support the Staff Manager by managing delegated projects.
  • Ensure compliance with balance sheet reconciliation policies.
  • Prepare month-end journal entries, including necessary adjustments.
  • Review and submit internal and external audit requests as required.
  • Assist in problem-solving initiatives and streamline recurring processes.

  • Solid accounting knowledge and proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Ability to analyze journal entries and apply GAAP principles for accurate financial reporting.
  • Data analysis skills, including SQL query creation and modification.
  • Willingness to challenge existing procedures and foster positive change.
  • Experience in timely analysis and resolution of high-priority issues.

Minimum Requirements:

A college degree with 1-3 years of professional experience, or 5+ years of relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Compensation:

The starting compensation range is $43,500 to $53,800.
