Position Overview:

The role involves the examination, negotiation, and resolution of recovery and subrogation claims valued at $2,000 or less, stemming from incidents involving third-party damage to company assets. This position also provides essential administrative assistance to colleagues managing more significant claims.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough investigations into recovery and subrogation claims of $2,000 or less, arising from third-party damages to company property. Offer administrative support to team members dealing with larger claims.
  • Assess liability by gathering official documentation, engaging with involved parties, and collaborating with field personnel as needed.
  • Effectively navigate challenging situations and manage conflicts.
  • Leverage available databases and analytical skills to retrieve and compute claim values for recovery and subrogation. Embrace a paperless claims handling approach, necessitating strong computer proficiency.
  • Process payments to vendors and agencies for investigative documents obtained (e.g., police departments).
  • Collaborate closely with the Accounts Receivable Accounting Department to ensure accurate processing and accounting of recoveries. Prepare management reports as required.
  • Identify potential areas for process enhancements and cost reduction. Oversee specifically assigned processes and projects.
  • Actively engage in safety initiatives and volunteer activities.
Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Preferred: Associate's degree.

Experience:
Associate Analyst-Claims: 3 years of experience in property and casualty claims, litigation paralegal/secretarial work, or equivalent experience.
Associate Analyst-Claims, Sr: 7 years of experience in property and casualty claims, litigation paralegal/secretarial work, or equivalent experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient in investigating, evaluating, resolving, documenting, and reporting on a high volume of small liability, workers' compensation, and public damage recovery claims. Understanding of legal liability components. Ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels, manage push-back and criticism, and prioritize tasks while utilizing various computer applications.

Certifications:
Licensed Claims Adjuster (may be obtained after employment commences).
Preferred: Certifications in claims, paralegal, administrative, or secretarial fields.
