Position Overview:
The Senior Vice President of Indigenous Relations will play a pivotal role in fostering and enhancing Nativemaps' connections with Indigenous leaders and their communities across the Pacific coastal region. This individual will be responsible for crafting long-term strategies and annual objectives, securing funding, overseeing the Nativemaps Indigenous Leadership Award, and providing support to the expanding network of award recipients.

Key Responsibilities:
1. **Award Administration:** Organize and manage the Nativemaps Indigenous Leadership Award, recognizing four finalists and one awardee annually through a structured nomination and selection process culminating in a celebratory event.
2. **Fundraising Initiatives:** Collaborate with the executive team to raise significant funds to enhance the award endowment and support annual Indigenous program initiatives.
3. **Strategic Participation:** Engage in senior management meetings to integrate Indigenous perspectives and experiences into innovative development models.
4. **Community Engagement:** Actively communicate with leaders, media, and communities regarding program initiatives, funding opportunities, and critical issues affecting Indigenous populations.

Qualifications:
- Proven ability to listen and build relationships with Indigenous leaders locally and globally.
- Exceptional communication skills with a strong emphasis on teamwork.
- Deeply motivated by social equity, environmental sustainability, and Indigenous self-determination.
- A minimum of ten years of experience working within Indigenous communities.
- Self-driven with the capability to work independently while collaborating with a broader network.
- Results-oriented professional with a willingness to travel as needed.
- Management experience, including staff supervision, budgeting, and fundraising.
